Multi-Stakeholder Socio-Educational Co-Learning: From Student-Centred to Ecosystem-Centred Higher Education

Presentation

While Work-Based Learning (WBL) is widely recognized, faculty practical implementation remains constrained by institutional inertia, rigid curricula, and off-campus logistical friction. This paper presents an innovative pedagogical response within faculty Continuing Professional Development (CPD) that shifts from Student-Centered Learning to Ecosystem-Centered Co-Learning.

Rather than forcibly exporting learning to industrial sites, Multi-Stakeholder Socio-Educational Co-Learning expands the university environment outward by activating student leadership. A motivated core of students (10–15%) acts as quality ambassadors, driving school-to-university career guidance and bringing external stakeholders into interactive, game-based learning environments. At the core lies Transdisciplinary Learning as an essential design tool for educators.

Within this framework, Learning Outcomes are synchronously co-designed and evaluated for all participating actors: students, faculty-facilitators, administrators, and employers. Based on multi-year regional implementations, this approach eliminates typical WBL friction, turning faculty resistance into proactive, ecosystem-wide institutional growth.
