Workshop: New Schools for New Labour Markets
A huge number of articles deals with the rapid changes of the labour market and the challenges for the educational system. Keywords like Industry 4.0, Climate Change, Resilience in Case of Disasters, Participation and Inclusion, give an impression of these challenges.
To put it in a Nutshell:
Needed are people who are autonomous, motivated and creative in identifying problems together, seeking or developing approaches for solutions and implementing solutions into practice.
This raises a few questions:
- What kind of frameworks reflect these challenges?
- How can schools identify concrete requirements of companies and the labour market?
- How can schools adapt to new and often continuously changing requirements?
The workshop presents solutions based on the experiences of ITECH Elbinsel, a VET school for informatics. The school won in 2023 the German school award for it’s complete transformation to an agile educational institution. Currently, ITECH is partner of the Centre of Vocational excellence Germany together with the Vocational University Hamburg, offering study integrated apprenticeships. (see WIN4SMES.eu).
(ver WIN4SMES.eu).
